Here's the story! Most mornings the bike runs perfect. I drive the 40 miles to work in absolute bliss. In the afternoon, Going home I ride about 5 miles and the bike misfires at lower speeds, and wont idle. When I come to a stop I have to keep winding the throttle as it pops and misfires and blows black smoke. It runs great with the throttle wide open, but anything else and runs like hell. Ride another 10 miles that way and it goes back to normal. The past few days it has been getting worse. Perhaps it just doesn't want to go home? I suspect that my problem lies in either the petcock or perhaps a crack or leak in the vacuum line to the petcock. I'll clean the carb anyway just for fun. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm almost at the point of selling the bike, I hate a machine that runs poorly, and even though I can fix these things, I
I'm getting to old for this, I just want to ride (have been fighting the fever for a new bike, really want a V-star, but I hate the thought of having payments! but it sure it a pretty machine with a better saddle!)
